Intentaba seguirlas.
Pero desaparecían antes de que pudiera alcanzarlas.
Entonces volvía el silencio.
Un silencio tan grande
que podía escuchar mi propia respiración
perdiéndose en la oscuridad.
Y yo seguía cayendo.
Antes de la caída hubo un salto. Antes del salto hubo unas alas olvidadas. Metáforas para una herida.
The Fall: After the Leap
After the leap,
came the darkness.
I opened my eyes,
but it made no difference.
All I could feel was what still clung to my skin:
cold,
the tears,
the stubborn beat of my heart,
my scattered thoughts.
I remained curled into myself,
as if the space between my arms and my knees
were the only place left for me to exist.
From time to time, voices appeared.
They arrived distorted by the distance,
as though they were traveling through water.
I recognized them.
I tried to follow them.
But they vanished before I could reach them.
Then the silence returned.
A silence so vast
that I could hear my own breathing
fading into the darkness.
And I kept falling.
